Carmel High School students are getting their own high school tattoo.
Carmel High is the home of Carmel’s tattoo artist, Brandon, and he’s hoping the program will give students a chance to show off their talent.
In the school’s art class, students have been encouraged to use their creativity to get the best work done.
They can paint on their arms, shoulders, or legs.
“We’re not going to tell them what to do, but we’re encouraging them to be creative,” Brandon said.
“We’re trying to give them a chance at getting their work seen, and maybe get their name out there.”
The students can choose to have the work done in black ink, white ink, or both.
The art class is open to all students, and Brandon said they’ve already been doing some of the students designs.
“It’s been fun for us to see some of them get a little more attention than we would have thought,” Brandon explained.
Brandon hopes that the students get some recognition for their work.
“The main goal is to show that we’re not just students,” he said.
Carroll High School has a lot of talent in its art program.
Some of the school arts students have had success with other artists.
The students have even gotten recognition from the principal of Carrol.
“I feel proud of Carroll High,” Carmel principal Matt Kapp said.
“There’s been a lot going on in Carrol lately, and it’s really exciting for our students and the community to have their work get noticed.”
Brandon said the art class has been very popular with the students.
“People are really excited about it,” he added.
