Louis County’s graduation rates are declining for the first time since 2014Stuyvezan High is the only high school in St Louis County that is not currently accredited by the state, which was the first city in the state to get its own accreditation, in 2003.

Utah’s highest-ranking school official said the state needs to “make sure our kids are learning, not having to work harder than we would if we were not doing it.”
“We are not doing anything right,” John Holcomb told the Deseret News in a video posted on Facebook.
“And it’s the least we can do,” he added.
Holcomb has been leading a coalition of school administrators to push back against critics of the state’s school funding.
He said the group will continue to press for funding that includes more flexible daycare and longer school hours.
Last year, Utahns overwhelmingly approved a ballot measure that increased the number of children enrolled in public school from 4,000 to 8,000.
The state has struggled with declining enrollment since the 2010-2011 school year, and officials have acknowledged that the number could rise again this fall as teachers seek additional paid time off to care for sick and injured students.
But Holcomb has argued that the state should spend more on teacher training and more money on the preschool program for children ages 3 to 6.
